You Asked, We Answered

What benefits will my dog gain from regular grooming?

Dog grooming promotes the overall health of the skin, coat and nails. Regular visits will maintain a clean and matt free coat, reduce shedding in your home, should any skin conditions arise these won’t go unnoticed, keep nails short and blunt.

How often should I bring my dog in for grooming?

For short haired dogs that shed heavily like german shepherds, siberian huskies and pugs, we recommend that you bring them between 4 and 6 weeks to keep the shedding at bay.

For long haired dogs that get matted easily, we recommend a visit between 6 and 8 weeks.

Of course, if your dog is groomed in a very short cut, that can last between 8-10 weeks before their next groom, so long as they’re brushed once a week at home.

How often do my dogs’ nails need clipping?

It is recommended every 4 weeks, unless your dog is active and wears them down.

How long will my dogs’ grooming take?

Standard grooming time is around 2 hours, however it could be longer or less. It really depends on the coat condition and length, size of the dog and behaviour during grooming. We take extra precaution when scissoring your dogs’ body, especially around the face and mouth. We do not rush our grooming for the sake of your dogs’ safety. Our aim is to provide your dog with a gentle and calm grooming experience.

Can I stay with my dog during grooming?

We do not allow owners to stay during the grooming process. A distracted dog creates an unsafe condition for myself and the dog, this extends the grooming process longer than required. I will call you when your dog is ready for pickup. Otherwise you’re more than welcome to call if you have any concerns.

How old should my puppy be before their first groom?

From 12 weeks on once they’ve had their second dose of vaccinations. With puppies, we take small steps by slowly introducing basic grooming services such as bath, blow dry and brush out, nail trim (if possible). This allows your pup the chance to desensitise and become familiar and comfortable in our care until they’re ready for a full groom. It’s recommended that your pup has its first grooming experience before 4 months of age.

What if I’m unhappy with the groom?

We value customer satisfaction. Please specify and communicate your preferences before the groom commences. Upon pickup, if you notice something you would like corrected I’m happy to do so.
